Austin Lair: Letter from the General Manager - Saturday Gaming
To our valued customers:
Due to a dispute with our management company, Dragon's Lair Comics & Fantasy® Austin will be delaying all Saturday gaming until after 5 p.m. effective June 11, 2011. This will include scheduled events and open gaming.
All other events and open gaming will remain unaffected and will suffer no disruption.
We have every intention of still hosting your regular events with a later start time. It is our sincere hope that this dispute will be settled as amicably and expediently as possible.
We apologize for any inconvience this causes to your normal shopping adventures with Dragon's Lair Comics & Fantasy® and appreciate your continued patronage.

Austin Lair: Pathfinder RPG Beginner Box Release Event
Dragon's Lair Comics & Fantasy® Austin will be running a special event to celebrate the release of the Pathfinder RPG Beginner Box!
Come participate in four, one-hour delve quests compatible with the Pathfinder RPG Beginner Box. Players who make it through all four delve quests will recieve a special Pathfinder Society Boon and anyone who volunteers to GM at least four delves will recieve a special boon from their local Venture-Captain or store coordinator.

Austin Lair: National Novel Writing Month Midnight Write
Dragon's Lair Comics & Fantasy® Austin will once again be hosting Austin area writers as they embark on their National Novel Writing Month journeys.
Each of these brave, creative folk are going to attempt to write a 50,000 word novel in thirty days and for the fourth year in a row will be getting their start here at Dragon's Lair Comics & Fantasy® Austin.

Special Writing Seminar

Exclusive for the Central Texas NaNoWriMo community, New York Times bestselling novelist Aaron Allston will discuss techniques for increasing fiction writing speed. Following that will be a question-and-answer session in which Allston and the attendees will attempt to solve plot, characterization, and other writing problems posed by audience members.

Austin Lair: Magic The Gathering Organized Play Changes
Starting in October, the Austin Lair will be changing a few things about the way we run Magic: the Gathering Constructed events such as Legacy, Modern and Friday Night Magic.
Please take note of these changes!
General Rules Changes
• Please have your DCI number ready when you sign-in to events. If you do not have a DCI number, we will assign you one. If you don't know your DCI number, we can look it up for you, but please be aware - whenever we have to do that, it slows down registration.
Friday Night Magic
• We will always run 4 rounds.
• Friday Night Magic events will have a maximum capacity of 48 players.
• Friday Night Magic registration will end at 7:15 PM.
• Every player participating in Friday Night Magic will recieve 1 participation booster.
• Official Friday Night Magic promo cards will be given to the top 2 finishers. 2 randomly selected players will be given official Friday Night Magic promo cards as door prizes during the event. The two lowest finishers MAY recieve an alternate, unofficial prize card (while supplies last).
• At the end of the tournament, prize packs will be given out as follows:
Players with 4-0 records will be given three aditional prize boosters.Please Note: This prize support system will remain in effect, no matter how many people are registered for the tournament.
Players with 3-1 records will be given two additional prize boosters.

Dragon's Lair Comics & Fantasy® is proud to be able to provide gaming space to local gaming groups, events, and leagues! We've got dozens of events and games every week and are excited every time we get to add one more!
But please remember that our space is limited and is first-come, first-served. Please make your reservations at least 48 hours in advance and be aware we might not be able to accommodate large groups without advance notice. All reservations must be confirmed by a Dragon's Lair Events Coordinator.
