Austin’s favorite nerd spot and game store since 1986. \nLineup includes many characters from the video game “Digimon Story Time Stranger” \nExperience the world of the video game with “TS (Time Stranger)” trait cards! \nNew cards to support” Diimong Liberator”\, “Digimon Universe App Monsters”\, and “Digimon Seekers” \nThis tournament will be a sealed format. Each player will receive 6 booster packs of BT-24 Time Stranger and will then build a 40 card deck and a 0-5 card “Digi-Egg” deck. Players can include as many copies of cards with the same card number as they like. B1\, Austin\, TX 78757 \nWhat’s new this year?\n\nIn order to accommodate our growing convention\, we’ve moved venues: this year’s Protospiel will be at Dragon’s Lair in Northwest Austin\nWe will be doing a celebratory dinner and networking event at Celis brewery on Friday October 24th from 7:00 – 10:00 PM Central Time.\nEvery designer\, as part of their badge purchase\, will be able to schedule a single 2-hour block\, or two consecutive 1-hour blocks each day. You can sign up for this by submitting an event.\nVolunteers for the event will be wearing green shirts with two readily available throughout the convention\, one to check you in and the other floating to help you find a game.\nIf you’d like\, we’re also selling t-shirts at the time of registration to help you commemorate the event. (All volunteers will get a complimentary t-shirt.)\n\nFAQ\nWhat’s a Protospiel? A Protospiel is an event where you can test a board or card game prototype in person with other designers\, playtesters\, and publishers. It doesn’t matter what level of polish your game has\, only that you bring an open mind and a willingness to receive feedback constructively. \nHow many prototypes should I bring? You’re welcome to bring as many prototypes as you’d like\, but you may be unable to test more than three? This depends largely on game length. \nHow is playtesting structured? We have scheduled events and open playtesting. Find a table\, have a seat\, and make friends. During open playtesting\, we ask that designers try to adhere to the Protospiel model of reciprocity: For each playtester and hour you have to help test your own game\, please spend that many hours playtesting the games of other designers. For example\, if a designer playtests their game with 3 players for one hour\, that designer should play 3 hours of other designer’s games. As a general rule\, after 1 hour you should take the temperature of the people at your table and see if they are ready to give feedback or if they would like to keep going. \nHow do events work? Due to feedback from last year’s attendees\, we are glad to offer with every designer badge the opportunity to schedule 2 hours of dedicated table time. All events must be submitted by Thursday October 23rd. Additionally\, we will have scheduled speakers giving presentations throughout the weekend on topics related to board game design and publishing. \nCan I show off my game before the convention? Absolutely! There’s a feature on this site that allows you to upload pictures and a written description of your game. Just go to Attend > Prototypes to get started. This helps give other designers and playtesters visibility of your game and helps you gauge public interest before people sit down at the table. \nIs this event family-friendly? While we don’t have any programming specifically designed for kids\, we try to ensure a family-friendly atmosphere and ask designers to tailor the playtesting experience based on the age of their testers. Most of the games will be recommended for ages 10+\, though a few will be for younger than that. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. \nWill I meet publishers? Maybe! The primary focus of this convention is giving and receiving feedback on unpublished games. We do have a number of local publishers who attend. Also\, many of our designers have previously published and many of our designers also self-publish. This is a great networking opportunity! \nDoes the price cover both days? Yes. All badges cover both days. \nHow do I get my badge? There will be a check in table in Dragon’s Lair and look for a volunteer in a green shirt. Please bring a form of ID and check in when you first arrive. We will give you your badge and further information at that time. \nCan I register at the door? Only playtesters may register at the door. If you intend to bring games for playtesting\, we ask that you register ahead of time so we may coordinate playtesting effectively. \nWhat do y’all do with the money? ATX Game Designers is a nonprofit. DESCRIPTION:Date: Saturday 10/4\nStart Time: 12pm\nEnd Time: 5pm\nCost: $25\nSeat Cap: 24\n  \nDetails: \n\nThank you for choosing Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy\, voted Austin favorite Comics shop and Games Shop for the 2025 Austin chronicle best of poll. \nTest your might and play for a chance to compete on the big stage. It all begins here at your local Proquest event. \nhttps://fabtcg.com/en/retailer-news/pro_quest_yokohama/ \nOur event will be the Classic Constructed format. Number of rounds will be based on player participation. \nEvery player will walk away with two booster packs just for playing in at least one round of the event.  Each player will be given two packs for participating in at least one round of the event as well as a pack-per win.  Additionally\, everyone will get a chance to open a Gem Pack Vol 3 for playing in the event. \n8th-5th place will be awarded six boosters\, 4th &3rd place winners will be given eight pack\, 2nd place will in a half a box\, and 1st place will win a sealed box of flesh and blood from available stock. \n\nAdditionally\, top 8 placement will award you special prize support from Legend Story Studios.  See the link above for more information. \n\n  \n\nPlease do not use the back button or refresh.
