Coming Soon: Innistrad Crimson Vow

October 18, 2021

The Magic the Gathering plane of Innistrad is currently stuck in endless night following the events of Midnight Hunt, it's the perfect time for vampires to come out and play! Releasing this month, Innistrad: The Crimson Vow is the second set of a spooky two set double feature and we can't wait to see how the story progresses as it centers on a vampire wedding! Here are a few highlights for the upcoming Crimson Vow that fans can look forward to:

Over 30 vampire cards – not much of a surprise considering the theme, but this goes to show just how focused this set will be. Many of these cards will use blood tokens to trigger additional abilities and/or make the vampires more powerful.

Black and white horror movie inspired “Eternal Night” showcase cards.

Dracula Cards – These  cards (called the Dracula Series) feature Dracula themed “skins” on reprints of regular cards. There are 18 total cards in the series and one of those is only acquired by way of the Buy-A-Box promo. The other 17 can be found in the Collector's Booster packs and the single-card Box Topper boosters.

Training – This new mechanic allows creatures to grow more powerful by fighting alongside other more powerful creatures.

Cleave – Another new mechanic that provides an alternative cost that allows removal of words from the rule text. You'll see it on some instant and sorcery cards.Midnight Hunt and Crimson Vow are designed to draft by themselves, but they also will draft well together. The two sets are synergistic and overlap in spots. Innistrad: The Crimson Vow, officially releases on November 19th, but you can experience the set a week ahead of time by participating in one of our prerelease events. We look forward to seeing you there!
