Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees #1 (IDW)
I am at a loss for words…how to describe this book? It’s nursery rhymes meets horror. It’s creature comforts undercut by fear and paranoia. It’s like if the Berenstain Bears were murderers. It would feel wrong if not for the expertly crafted and deceptively charming package in which these revelations are unearthed. You will instantly fall in love with the town of Woodbrook and its friendly animal denizens which makes the horrifying truth of the story all the more tragic. Hats off to writer/artist Patrick Horvath for crafting a truly unique, if chilling comic experience.
