On the Horizon: Dungeons & Dragons

August 24, 2022

The 6th edition of Dungeons & Dragons is currently in development by Wizards of the Coast, and although it isn't set for release until 2024, we've been treated to a couple tasty tidbits of what's to come!

This upcoming edition is being referred to as “One D&D” and will feature a new set of the core books essential to Dungeons and Dragons play – The Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, and Monster Manual. Game designer Chris Perkins has stated that they are aiming to make this new iteration of the DM Guide friendlier to beginners, so this release may be the perfect time to switch from player to DM!

In other good news, One D&D will be fully compatible with all 5e materials, which indicates that there won't be major changes to the core infrastructure that we all know and love.

One D&D is currently being playtested, and if you want to join and have some influence on what this next edition will be like you can sign up today to give it a try!

In the meantime, there are plenty of exciting D&D releases heading your way before 2024, including a new Book of Many Things sourcebook later this summer, a revamped release of the classic D&D setting Planescape this fall, a Dragonlance adventure in December, and Bigby Presents the Glory of the Giants (Spring 2023). Place a special order now and we'll save you a copy when they arrive!
