If you’ve ever wanted to join the Resistance or fight for the Empire, Fantasy Flight’s Star Wars X-Wing miniatures game is a way to scratch that itch. This game is all about tactical strategies as you maneuver your ships in a thrilling exchange of interstellar combat.
The game can be simple to start – the core set contains two fighters and an X-wing to get you started and just those pieces alone create a huge amount of variability in game play. There is an incredible array of ship expansions you can acquire to grow your squadron and make your encounters more complicated and thrilling. You can play with cruisers, the Millenium Falcon, Y Wings and much, much more.
The ships themselves are high quality works of art, and these are the kind of miniatures you’ll be tempted to display even when they aren’t simulating battles on your tabletop. The aim of the game is to bring a space dogfight to life and it is incredibly successful in this endeavor.
