In 2017 three friends got together to brainstorm a webcomic. The plan was to create a story that celebrated the diversity of our customers and supported the values of Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy®, which includes our support of the LGBTQIA+ communities as well as minorities and our belief in the power of the communities that are created in stores.

We also wanted to tell an entertaining story and show the various types of games and comics and other products that we have in the stores.

And we wanted to have fun!

While the comic only lasted 26 episodes, far fewer than the hoped for run, it nevertheless is a part of our history and one that all the creators; Martin Whitmore, artist, J. B. Murphy, writer, and David Wheeler, founder of Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy® and Producer are proud of. It brought all of us a great deal of joy, and I hope that it will bring that joy to you!

Additionally, as you can see, we benefited from Martin Whitmore’s talents other times. For our 35th Anniversary we commissioned him to provide us with art celebrating that. We also commissioned artwork by Echo Chernik and Julie Dillon.

Finally, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we once again contacted Martin to ask him to help spread the word about ways to greet one another without shaking hands. He produced a work that used some of the pop culture items that we all know and love.
