Bëorn the Littlest Viking is an all ages adventure following one little viking’s quest to become a legend. Local Austin artist and writer Ben Bender is the creator behind this part slice of life, part fantasy webcomic. Book One: The Littlest Viking is the printed version of the first chapter of Bëorn’s saga , and you can pre-order Book Two: The Tree and the Troll now!
Bender describes this project in his own words, writing “Bëorn knows he will be a legendary warrior any day now. In the meantime, he’ll spread his personal brand of mischief across his new home…a fantastical island where ancient myths, powerful gods, and magical fairy tales come to life.”
Though adventures and mishaps abound and little Bëorn runs into a heap of characters, the center of this story revolves around his friendship with a troll named Goob. The artwork is consistent and adorable, with a wholesome feel reminiscent of Calvin and Hobbes.
