Once again, your roving reporter is on the scene in Reno, Nevada to take in the sights and sounds of the Gamemakers Association of America yearly expo. The last time this happened was just on the cusp of Covid, back in 2020. This year, we’re all wearing masks, so maybe we can make it through this con without catching the dreaded crud.
The GAMA Expo is a chance for the creators, publishers, and distributors of the gaming world to pitch the newest and greatest of their offerings to the fine local game stores of America and Canada. Some of what we see is brand new, some are evergreens that retain their appeal over years. Some never makes it past the prototype stage.
The first day is mostly given to seminars and meet-and-greets. Things really start going on the second day when the publishers and creators get a full hour to let us know what they have in mind for the coming year. Here are some pics of just a few of the wonders we beheld.
